We read a few books, listen to some podcasts, and tell ourselves that we’ll figure it out as we go along. And then we watch our good intentions vanish with the reality and stress of daily parenting.
It's never too late to turn things around. I can help!
After nearly a decade of teaching elementary school, I was thrilled to welcome my first child into the world in 2019. But my life took an unexpected turn when he was born at 28 weeks gestation and spent 116 days in the NICU. Because of his medical needs, I had to quit my job and was thrown into a new role as a full-time mom.
My experience in the classroom and the various parenting courses I took gave me a good idea of how I wanted to parent, but nothing prepared me for the reality of day-to-day parenting. Especially a medically complex child. And a younger sibling. During a global pandemic. 🤯
I found the Jai Institute for Parenting because I was desperate for ways to take my lofty ideas of parenting and apply them to real life. How could I parent differently than I was raised and see and know my children for their authentic selves?
What I learned was life-changing and now as a parent coach myself, I help families strengthen their emotional intelligence so they can feel calm, confident, and connected to their kids. There is no one right way to raise kids. I provide guidance, education, and accountability so families can determine their own values, limits and style of parenting.
When I'm not coaching, you'll find me exploring the outdoors with my boys, listening to a podcast while walking my dog, or designing a photo book. I’ve never met a chai latte I didn’t like, and I’m always on the search for ethical brands to support. I can’t wait to work with you!
Megan, mom of 2
